Explore Romney Marsh through singing! Suitable for all abilities, this fun, free workshop will introduce “Vocal Painting”.
Whether you’re a choir singer, a shower singer, a car singer or even a professional, this fun free workshop is suitable for all!
Choir leader Leanne Sedin (from London Contemporary Voices & Sing Tower Hamlets) will introduce “Vocal Painting” – a way of singing together in a group, to co-create a live piece of music. Activities during the workshop will explore different themes related to the landscape and wildlife of Romney Marsh. Together we’ll create a new short piece of music called “Plight Of The Bumblebee (and other wildlife)”.
There will be a second workshop on 21st August for those that would like to attend, followed by an optional opportunity… to sing the new music live in front of a small audience, alongside professional singers from London Contemporary Voices!
The activity is suitable for adults and older teenagers aged 14+. Under 18s should be accompanied by an adult. The workshop is suitable for all abilities and confidence levels – a good opportunity to try singing in a group!
The workshop will take place in the beautiful surroundings of St Nicholas’ Church in New Romney, which is over 800 years old.

The workshop has been organised by The Fifth Continent Landscape Partnership Scheme. With thanks to our funders, National Lottery Heritage Fund and the D’Oyly Carte Charitable Trust.
