The Marsh on Screen film project

fifth-continent-on-film

Capturing the magic of the Marsh on Film, this project offers the opportunity for people to develop film making skills by getting involved in producing a range of new mini documentaries and creative films. The Landscape, heritage and culture of Romney Marsh will be the focus, enabling communities and individuals to rediscover the beauty and history of the area they live in. There will be annual Film Festivals hosted to show case the range of films and celebrate the involvement of everyone involved.

72 HOUR FILM CHALLANGE

Residents in and around the Romney Marsh area were challenged to enter the free ‘72 Hour Whitsun Bank Holiday Film Challenge’. We were looking for stories real or created about the Romney Marsh area and shot in the Romney Marsh. There was good interest in the event resulting in four groups entering the challenge, each producing a short film clip which had to include a set phrase that had to be included in the content. The winning clip was called The Marsh News. Click the link below to view the winning clip.

All film clips will be published on the website.

Fifth Continent on Film contributes to Rediscover project theme.

There will be lots of opportunities to get involved, no experience in Film making needed. If you have an interest in discovering more about the area you live in, would enjoy learning new skills and can see yourself either in front of the camera or behind the scenes, get in touch with us.

FILM MAKING WORKSHOPS

During 2018 and 2019 the Screen South team have been holding a series of workshops, offering opportunities to make films across the Marsh.
