We had an excellent response to our callout for artwork and ideas to help create The Marsh Mosaics; a series of ten new community artworks which will celebrate the heritage and wildlife of our unique landscape. Over 200 artistic creations were submitted throughout the Autumn and we will be publishing these on our social media channels in the coming weeks – huge thanks to everyone who got involved!
The artistic team from Teach Me in New Romney is now busy developing the ideas we’ve received into designs for the mosaic panels, working in partnership with the local historic churches where the final mosaics will be displayed. Later in the year we’ll be running lots of workshops, where participants from across the marsh will learn the heritage craft of mosaic-making and help lay the final tiles – more on that to come!
